I always wondering why the WRC are front mount intecooler and stock STi are horizontal? and with is better?
Nice grammar.
There's a recent thread about front mount pro's and cons (and alot of nastiness ) here: http://www.subyclub....ns/page__st__20
"Basically this is what Subaru say about why they have top mounts:
The main reason that the designers and manufactures fit the intercooler
to the top is for efficiency. For the fact that it is fitted to a
'Boxer' designed engine, allows for space and it is mounted directly to
the intake which is in the same vicinity. Being mounted closer allows
for better efficiency.
To mount it at the front means its further away from the engine and it
can create less air flow for the air conditioning evaporator and
radiator. It would also be subject to more damage from foreign bodies
(rocks) in motion on the road."
So essentially they do it because it costs less and is less complicated. Front mounts are generally better due to receiving more cold air and having more flow, but cost alot more and are much more difficult to fit on a Subaru.

Anyway Valentino, why a Subaru? You just gave up your Yamaha for a Duc.

Stick with a bigger higher flowing Top mount.

but as I said, look at getting a bigger better Top mount, before you start doing front mount.
On the standard engine, you will lose too much boost doing a front mount.
