Thinking of improving my rice factor and painting my brake callipers. I've done it before but just wondering about colour. I have a silver 99' RX with gold rims, do you think red would suite? What colour do you think would be nicer. Cheers.
I will enjoy the extra 5kW I get from red callipers.

Don't forget to use proper calliper paint, but if you have done it before you would know that

Painting them can be very difficult. I would recommend going to MRT and get them to do it. Your in Syd, yes? They're located in Rhodes and they're prices are unbelievable!Hey all,

But why paint them when you can buy them ready done:

One of our members has them on his sled and if you're lucky, he may be kind enough to provide you with installation tips. But again; MRT is the best bet with this sort of stuff, so worth calling them up sometime and asking them.

Go for the black
Reds only cool when you got brembos
Hide the rice

You will have to set aside a whole day to do all four though. A lot of prep work is needed to get the best results.
I painted my RX ones gold which went alright with the green of the car
And I started painting my Outback ones white to see how they would look. Turns out the Outback's brake pads omit a staggering amount of dust so it lasted about 24 hrs!

Jokes aside, black FTW. Keeps it simple and doesn't make stock calipers stand out as being stock.
BTW - which DIY did you use, Morgan? I want to do it to mine before sometime this Summer...

I've done two cars before, one on my mates VL and the other on another mates VR6. Well, not me personally, but it was between me and my mate.
Those calliper covers looks extremely appealing.. Is it really that simple? Clip on cover?
Joke aside

As above, Brembo covers may be the way, the fake way
I didnt find painting them very hard. Followed a DIY on one of these forums and it all went smoothly.

But seriously I like Shiv's idea, just buy brembos, they come pre-painted. If I could kick my girl out of bed and make love to gold brembos I would, but it's illegal in this state. Gold is the winning colour I say.

All seriousness though OP do them black or perhaps a dark silver (try to match how they look new) other than that leave them how they are IMO.
It may be just me but I do not like the look of the single sided calipers when they are painted in red/blue etc.
Aha first thing I thought of when I read the title of this thread was "business shirts required"

Then I realised if you paint them black, you don't need to clean them. Which is a tough job with wheels like yours and mine.
