ive notice there is different size radiators from a 2.2l std liberty to the TT legacy
so the boys that do the TT convertion to there std liberty what radiator are they using?
as the body where the radiator sits is lower on a TT than a 2.2l liberty
if that makes sence.

I didn't know it was lower, think the core width just changes.

I could be wrong, one of the differences is the lack of a radiator cap on the actual radiator itself on the legacy ones as far as I know. I've run a WRX radiator in mine, as well as an auto TT legacy one - have had no cooling issues with either of them.

Just keep an eye on your temp. gauge and keep an ear out for the termo fans - if you believe they are coming on excessively (and if the car is perhaps running a bit hot) then upgrade , I would be very surprised if there would be a need though.

the rx and turbo radiators are the same apart from the cap, the legacy radiator support is the same as the rx liberty but the gx is a higher support so the turbo/rx radiators dont fit

so you will have to use the radiator support from a legacy or rx liberty, if not just modify the gx radiator to suit the turbo motor

yeah scott mine is a gx, i wanted to use my TT radiator as my gx radiator shit it self,
next month i was going to swap the gx motor with the TT motor, so now i got to see which way to go about the radiator
has any one changed the bottom of the body where the radiator sits, i can use the part off the front cut that ive got
also any other stuff to watch out on my gx for a TT convertion,
cheers

the only other thing is the front crossmember, gx one wont fit you need the tt one

heaps of people have changed the rad support i had a alloy rad ready to get cut done to fit but ended up buying a new car

since the gx has no header tank outlet/inlet i just modified the rad to suit for the time being all you need is an elbow and screw it into the overflow plug on the driverside, then run the other line to the overflow bottle where the other line off the cap goes too

heaps of boys with gx to rs conversions have done this with no fault, mine was running fine with about 180kw atw but was only temperary anyways

Kosti's B4 Auto he still has, doesn't have a radiator cap.

Probably had a replacement radiator fitted at some point before you owned it

hmm.. don't think so dude.. it was all labelled as OEM, made by Calsonic from memory.. looked exactly the same etc.. just no cap on it..

Maybe mine was the hum-dinger spec.

So your saying your radiator had a cap on it and not a header tank sitting further back?

Interesting.. got pics?

Nope.. Opposite dude, my radiator had a cap, and the little tank next to the manifold had one.. Whe Kosti only had one on the little tank.

don't my02 and older only have a cap on the header tank but MY03 have the cap on the radiator as well. I'm guessing yours was either an MY03 or had had it's radiator replaced with a later model at some point

Brendan, that must have been an after market radiator or from another model.

All the Aussie B4's just has a cap on the header tank and none on the radiator.

Once Subaru realised that they had the worst cooling system ever fitted to any car I think they probably tried to fix it... by adding A SECOND RADIATOR CAP!!! YEAAH!
