hey guys,

Im looking at buying some 17x7.5 or 17 x 8 Wheels to run 235/45/17" Semi slicks for track days and hillclimbs that im doing quite often now.

What Offset should i be looking for?

What is enough to clear brembos?

I think my STI 18's are still +55 but the spoke are quick thin and i have about 2-3mm clearance at the moment.

Cheers

neg camber (2) + roll guards. that's how i've fit 235/40/18 +44 8.5" wide wheels. do gen3 guards have a lip on them?

if you were in the area i'd be happy to lend a wheel to try it on a gen3!

Nelson does great work! Aek has also got his done by him

He charged me $55/cnr and Aek $65/cnr...

Nelson lives in Blacktown so the closer u are to his, the cheaper it is...

It's got just as much to do with the spoke profile aswell as the offset to clear Brembo's.
There's a thread on NASIOC about wheels that clear Brembo's (http://forums.nasioc...ad.php?t=448097).

I'd stick to somewhere around +45 if you don't want to roll the guards, any lower and rolling and maybe pulling will be needed - I need my rears guards pulled, spose I could raise the car, but where's the fun in that?

Only way to really be sure, is to find someone with the wheels you want and try them.

How much do you want to spend?
Don't want to run small (3 or 5mm) spacers in the front?

Guess ill be doin that Sydney guard rolling pretty soon.
Id love to get some black Rota grids on mine with a good offset..

Take a look at this pic:

Posted Image

The front wheels are flat and the back have a large offset. From this, the front look like crap and the back, with offset, look veryy tough! (although, the package is great)

..maybe someone could explain what id need to do to my Gen3 to get those back wheels on my car.. not necessarily with as much offset, but close.. (dont really want to thread steal, BUT im asking the exact same question as EVIL...) :)

thanks guys.

actually that's not quite correct. i just told everyone his "normal" rate. we had 3 cars done. i paid less than $55 a corner.

Depending on what size and offset;
Coilovers with plates, -2 or so camber all round (which you'll need adjustable arms/the bushes in the back to get it right - Whiteline), rolled/pulled guards, slightly stretched tyres, a hammer to beat the front inner guards.

stretched tyres? thats a new one for me lol.. how much am i looking at at adjusting camber and whiteline etc?

thanks

EDIT: or is it possible to use coilovers that can be transfered to a Fozz'08 in a cuple yrs time?

coilovers are skinnier to alwow a wider tyre ;)

Im not looking to spend in excess of $1000 as these will be wheels that are only used on the track..

A mate may have hooked me up with some OZ racing superturismos .... sweeet!

hahah This came to a grinding halt eh!?

Just wondering, anyone know if i can use coilovers for my Liberty (gen3) and Transfer them to an 07/08 Forester XT in a cuple yrs time?? Basically any market&performance level, cost not too much of an issue if they can be transferred as they'll be with me for a while.

Input muchly appreciated :)
