Story goes I purchased a set of race rod bearings and main bearings through Extremepsi.com.
I installed the rod bearings and all is well. Tollerances were OK.
Then I installed the main bearings (around 11.30pm so getting tired), lubed them up, 3 bonded the block, chucked the crank in and torqued the two halves.
F*CK I couldn't turn the crank. Normally I measure the bearings at the centre to get the thickness but this time I didn't because I've never had a problem with ACL bearings.

This is part of an email I sent to extremepsi.
These are the bearing stampings.
#5 (thrust) bearing 8309H; 0010; STD
#2 and #4 bearings 8298H; AU10; STD
#1 and #3 bearings 8297H; AU10; STD

My findings are that the crank journals measure up to 60.00mm +/- 0.03mm
The thickness of the bearings at centre are as follows:
#5 (thrust) bearing 1.98mm
#2 and #4 bearings 1.98mm
#1 and #3 bearings 2.08mm

This explains why the crank would not spin when the block halves were torqued together.
The main tunnel is 64.1mm. If you add 2x2.08mm and subtract it from 64.1mm you get 59.94. This is less than the journal diameter.
#1 and #3 bearings are oversized and do not allow any clearance.

I was hoping to get ths engine finished by this weekend but if I have to deal with the US it won't happen so I'm hoping either 1) someone has a hookup at ACL or 2) maybe someone has a set of ACL race bearings lying around they can part with.

Moral of the story is check everything when building an engine.

They reckon they ship in 24hrs, which, by my calculations would mean you'd have them at the latest, Friday?

I've bought stuff from GCG, and they have surprisingly fast shipping. Fairly reputable company too. Also Australian based, so if what happened to you happens again, I'd imagine there will be some kind of Australian warranty provided.

Cheers,
Shazza

Thanks Shazza but this is what I need, but the price is nuts. I got the same thing through Repco for $88+$10 freight.
