i'd just like to note for the record: Ben's FMIC is an APS DR725, not a Hyperflow ;)

Thanks fellas!
Yeah he said he bought one, he doesn't muck around lol.
I was surprised at how long the batteries lasted too, helps when you've got 2 of them and a car charger though. Best money I've ever spent buying mine with last years tax return ;)

Cheers Dylan and Jesse :)
You can buy them off the gopro website but it's about $80 postage, so ebay has been the way for everyone I know that's bought one. They've become alot cheaper too, a mate of mine picked one up the other day for $350.

Any accessories you recommend getting? Extra battery and car charger for sure, anything else?

My car charger is just a usb one for my ipod, works fine with the gopro too. Erm there's a HEAP of accessories that I could recommend haha, depends what you're going to be filming though. I've got a chest strap, and I'll be getting a handlebar mount (to put on a ski pole) and tripod mount before I head to the snow. There's also an add on lcd screen that's just been released which Mark and I are both going to buy for our gopros which will make things alot easier, but they're upwards of $100.

Awesome, cheers mate. I will probably only use it for motorsports and snorkelling and diving when I eventually go.
Might just get the basics at first and then build as I go, how is the LCD screen powered? Could be handy on the day to delete unwanted footage etc

We got new no name brand batterys of ebay, unfortunatly they didnt arrive in time for the track day, but they come today, 12 months warrenty and they cost $22 each posted.

just need a USB charger to charge them, nothing fancy. An LCD screen will be one of the next things i buy, and a chest strap mount.

one of these would be cool for 3D recording.

Just plugs in and is powered by the battery in it, I'd assume it wouldn't use too much battery power but it would still shorten the life, apparently they make the camera a fair bit heavier too but that wouldn't matter too much unless you had it on your helmet or something...

Thai batteries ftw Mark :), we're yet to see how well they go lol.

I'm just looking at this http://cgi.ebay.com....2#ht_4247wt_902
and then getting an extra battery or 2..

Are the suction mounts pretty good? My GPS one is absolute crap and won't stick to the window any more..

You can turn the screen of i beleive, so you'll only use it when setting up. so it shouldn't make much difference to battery life.

Some testing in the newy areas proves the suction mounts are good for 160km/h+

The suction caps are awesome, they reckon you can pull dents with them :P

Yeah you can turn them off Mark, you'd only use it for setting up and reviewing footage, which will be handy as they're a bit of a pain sometimes to get pointing in the right direction.

That's reassuring, don't want it to fall off ahaha. If I go the LCD screen when I buy the camera it's only $111 extra and no extra postage...Hmm things to think about.

Cheers guys :)
