I got a voucher for RedBalloon for my birthday and after looking through their website, I've narrowed it down to a three options.

Hot laps in a V8 Supercar
There are a few different deals here. All seem to be riding in the passenger seat for 3 laps
V8 1
V8 2
V8 3

Hot laps in an SR3. The closest option to an F1 car and there are 4 laps in the package
0-100 in under 3 sec.
Get to take home a USB keyring with in-car video footage.
SR3

Hot laps in a rally car
Rally 1 - The cheapest overall - 2 laps in the passenger seat
Rally 2 - So far this is looking the best, with 7 laps IN THE DRIVERS SEAT of a WRX or EVO.

I've always wanted to do the V8 hot laps but something about actually driving the rally car appeals to me :P

So, what would you choose?
Why would you choose it?
Have you done something similar in the past?

Rally Car 100%. My mate done a rally drive day, and they let him drive a Sprinter, A Ute, and a WRX.

Apparently it was super awesome.

Cheers,
Shazza

Rally car! have heard only good things about it!

In the end, a few hot laps in the passenger seat is cool... but we are DRIVERS!

I got given the V8 Race Experience from my bro, and that was incredible fun getting to drive one of their cars.

Personally I think the Rally experience would be more fun/exhilarating.

On a side note - the Red Balloon website looks identical to the website my folks bought something else off earlier this year under the company "Total Experience". They went into liquidation in January and only because my parents paid by credit card were they able to get a full refund. Just make sure the two companies are not related and this voucher is safe...

Yea it does look very similar, Shiv. Though Total Experiences seem to still be up?

RedBalloon seems to be ok though. I've told a few people and they've recognised the name and spoken highly of it...

Looks like the rally driving will be the go. I'm guessing insurance is all covered? The only reason I'd go with the SR3 or the V8s would be the zero responsibility factor...

Yeah its in voluntary administration I believe.

Red Balloon is good. A mate of mine did the Rally experience through them and loved it!

I got a V8 drive and 2 rally drives for my 21st.

Still haven't done them yet, but they're booked in. Need to book very far in advance.

The laps in the Radical SR3 would be cool.

One thing with rally driving.
Its only going to be fun if you're good at it. Otherwise its going to be a dodgy drive down a dirt road.

If you want to go flat out, the SR3 or V8supercar would be the go.
I had a go in a a V8supercar hot lap car a couple years ago, those things stick to the road like **** to a blanket. Everything in your body is saying "ITS NOT GOING TO WORK" and the car is just "Meh. try harder..."

You will enjoy rallying much more, You may not go as fast in term of top speed, But the rally car will feel quicker as the tracks are generally smaller.

However some of the "come ride in a rally car places" are set on a very open track.

Like I said before, you'll only enjoy it if you're good at it.
If you've never done it before, you're not. You'll spend half the day with the brake pedal burried in the fire wall.

Hi,

Morgan is a legend, so pretty sure he'll be very good at it right off the bat.

Whatever you decide mate, I look forward to hearing all about it.

Personally I would choose the rally car every time, but that's because my passion lies with rally over TC.

Cheers,
Nik

Thanks mate :)

I think the rally car would be the way to go. If you don't give it a go, you're never going to learn...
Gotta start somewhere
