Hey guys, my cousin has a 99 Foz and it has a strange whirring sound. She has had it through 2 sets of tires and no change. It doesn't change with speed or direction.

She says it sounds like they are really hard tires but she has changed them to no difference.
She has had the bearings checked out and they said they were fine.
Any ideas on things to check out?

Sorry I don't have more details, I haven't actually heard it but yeah, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers, Jesse

In the back.

Bearings were said to be okay... I told her to do the grab top and bottom and rock thing to test.

I was thinking diff but thought the noise would change with speed which it doesn't...

Surely that narrows it down a bit.

diff oil is pretty easy to change, it costs stuff all and a good way to rule it out.

stupid question but same tyres? what pressures?

Just check for you mate..

I'm pretty sure she has Pirelli's now.. not sure which ones though, ah old ones were good year.
Not sure on pressures.
If she hasn't got it sorted in the next 2 weeks I will let you know more details.
