Hey guys. I'm in need of some new brake pads. What do you guys recommend? I need something that isn't scared of a little heat. Dust factor is not an issue. Current setup is 277mm GT twin pots and slotted rotors.

I've heard they take a little to warm up. This is no biggy, as my current pads do too. But then my current ones over heat way to fast. Also, I've heard a car fitted with Ultimate's, and they made a bit of noise. Is this normal? A total upgrade is possibly on the cards also. I like this "Big f*ck off 3**mm twin pots" fad that's going around at the moment.

I've just come from a set of Ferrodo DS2500's (too much for a street car IMHO) to a set of Ultimates. Once you push them and warm them up a bit the ultimates grab well, but can't keep going as long as the DS2500's. I think the ultimates would suit you Gen2 quite well.
As Tony Montana would say:
In this country, you gotta make the money first.
Then when you get the money, you get the power.
Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

My mate has got ultimates on his r33 and they squeal like a little school girl. Horrible pads, way too noisey and a total pain in the arse. He has to pull to a stop using the handbreak because of the amount of noise.

I have Ferodo DS2000s and they dust too much for my liking. Will be trying Hawk pads soon. Been told they're good for stopping power and also minimal dust.

What are the prices on: EBC green's. DS2500. DS2000. Or even a link would be good.

I used bendix ultimates at morgan park paul, they didnt fade once on me, mind you i wasnt putting the same amount of strain frankie would of been in his B4. Dust can be annoying, i normally wipe them down once a fortnight, luckily my rims hide the dust pretty well. Mine have always made the noise i can only associate with child rape, when i put the teins in i wipped the rotors a bit with a clean towel and the noise has almost all but dissapeared, it will more then likely come back though.

Lucas pads FTW!! 650 degree pads, they are a little woody when cold, but I am yet to have them fad though the hills. I used them with the 277mm, 294mm and now the 330mm rotors! Love em!

I'll echo the slow TT man's comments. :P Good budget option these pads, if you don't mind a bit of dust.

Ahh nice. Well I'll be going to GT spec 316mm brakes now. And what ever the GT spec rears are. The piddly little 277mm jobies are a joke. As Rob can attest to.

I got a spare set of new front pads with them, so will take a pic of the 277mm ones against the 315mm ones tomorrow.
