Hey I am the proud new owner of this 2000 Outback Limited. Its done hardly any kilometres and is in fantastic condition. The only mods I have done to the car are replacing the air filter with a K&N Highflow Cold panel air filter, tinted the windows fairly dark and replaced the Clarion stock cd player with a Kenwood touch screen dvd/cd player and in the next few months I will be replacing all the stock speakers with Focal speakers and amp.

Hey, Cheers. I'm from Melbourne. One thing that i really want to do is put a Jap spec rear spoiler with the led brake light in it on the tailgate. Ive had a look at importmonsters.com and have found what im looking for but just not sure about whether I should buy from Japan and whether ill get everything I need to mount it to the car. And as well getting it resprayed. If anyone could help or has one or anything it would be much appreciated. Also not sure how I can get more power/performance out of an N/A engine apart from maybe extractors and a bigger exhaust. Anyones ideas would be again much appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris

Yeah unfortunately with an NA engine. There's not much we can do for more power. But, we can let it breathe a bit easier and make it sound a little better than stock.
A cold air intake, 2.25 or 2.5" cat back exhaust and Unequal Length Headers is about all. Not much (even no) power gains but at least it might sound a bit better.
Upgrading your low beam headlights to HID is a pretty good option. Although we don't have projector headlights(unless you get them custom made like Shiv), if you aim the headlights down a bit, it doesn't affect on coming traffic so much.
You could even replace the halogen lights in your dash from the nasty green colour to LEDs, as long as you do it properly, it'll look pretty cool!

One of the best upgrades for us NA outback drivers is a rear sway bar. Not exactly sure of the best size for upgrading but I think 20-22mm is a good guess. I'll be putting one of these in pretty soon.

Welcome to Subyclub mate

OUTBACK!

You won't get much power gains out of the NA.

The Outbacks are very big, heavy and slow.

Exhaust + K&N air filter + CAI will help it breathe better but if you want power, buy turbots :)

Hey and welcome!!!

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

Welcome mate, love the colour! Power wise, as everyone said you won't get anything apart from a better sound. Just keep the engine well serviced and that's the most you can do.

Hey, gee it's good being part of something like this. All the advice is helpful. Much appreciated. It's annoying about not being able to get any power gains. And for the kms it's done only 125,000 for an 11 year old car. I reckon that's pretty good. The colour and paint are in fantastic condition which is a big plus.

Sounds like you picked up a little gem there mate.
My 9 and a half year old Outback has done 188k kms! Though it drives like it's got half that :P

I agree, those are some low kms. I found the Outbacks had higher kms on average compared with Libs and other cars in general.

Is yours an auto or manual?

Yeah I found they had higher kms as well. But this was just good timing and i needed a new car. It's an auto. My last car was a four cylinder dual cab ute, manual and it was on gas. I was so over driving a gutless manual car. All I wanted was to just drive an auto with cruise control. My whole family drive subaru's and I really liked the outback so it was an obvious choice. It's such a great car. I love driving it.
