Hi guys, I got 2 questions, please help!!

1) I have a weird creaking noise from the back left shock when I got bumps and speed humps etc, funny thing is, if someone sits there on that side it stops-ish.. but, when it's a wet day, the creaking is constant and louder!

2) How the f*&* do you get to the shock in the rear? I've searched upside down and can't find anything

Cheers
Brendan

to acess the rear strut top you remove the rear carpet/board/wheel cover thingie, and pull the side pannels away up against the rear seat. there is two bolts

make sense??

err.. not really dude,

you mean inside the cabin, you need to remove the rear carpet back and remove the plastic panel to get to the top of the shock? where are these 2 bolts you speak of? the shock should have 4 bolts on top holding it in?

most subaru's are the same
this is the way ive done it in both my Sti's and my gen2 libs

undo the two bolts holding the bottom of the rear seat on
that will give you access to three bolts holding on the seat backrest remove that
then remove the parcel shelf carpet/ board i think its 2 bolts also remove plastic triangle panels
you will then be able to access the strut tops they are usually 3 nuts on top

you may be able to access the strut tops without the rear seat out like GT tony said but this is the way ive done it

if its not a spec b it won't have bilsteins. and on top of that i doubt the stock KYB's won't be regreaseable. only WRX from 05 onwards that have the inverted shock and 02 sti onward inverted style are can be greased

MY07 GT spec B

yearh, not billies.. I wanna check to see if it's loose, my model had a problem where they hired a bloke with a sore pointer finger and couldn't handle the rattle gun.. a lot of people have had hand tightened bolts on all their shocks..

and i've found some billies for the car, I just need to know how to get to the c**ts.

NEVER HAD THIS WITH MY HONDA!!!!

Subaru has become the Kia of the car world lately.

That fake book link cleaned up the pic I had in mind, great work bud, much appreciated.

I decided to jump on the boot seal violently (boot open) to keep on replicating the sound, till I heard a nice clunk! After that the noise has gone completely lol, hoping it was the spring out of place.

Ps go you dragons.
