Hey guys,
Im looking into getting a muffler to make my outback sound a lot better, but i dont want a stupidly loud one, just a nice hum.
If anyone with experience could just flood me with it, what Im looking for, street legal sound limits, price range's etc.
I have zero experience with the exhausts.
Thanks in advance!

Steveeeeeeeeeee,

I got my full 3" TBE exhaust done out at QuickFit Mufflers in Gladesville. I just got the biggest, oval shaped 3" straight through muffler available, and it keeps it nice and quiet.

Or, you could try any of the following.

Brookvale Mufflers - Brookvale - Speak to Andrew/Jamie - Tell him Shannon from NAB sent you - He'll look after you.
Giles Mufflers and Mechanical - Brookvale - Speak to Gilesy Senior - Tell him Shannon from NAB sent you.
Sandy Cortis Mufflers - Brookvale - Speak to Glenn - Tell him Shannon, friends with Matt with the white JZZ30 Soarer sent you.

Any of those places will suffice mate.

Cheers,
Shazza

or go to Cromer Exhaust and speak to Graham or Matt. Tell them Aek sent you. They deal in all the popular brands and offer a good reliable service.

I didn't get reamed - did I miss out?
Or was it because I had mine done at their factory in Bathurst?

Yeah I gotta admit as well, I’ve been extremely happy with the service I’ve received at hi-tech in the past and there prices seemed to be reasonable as well. I've had three exhausts done with them and no complaints at all

Fair enough, its not really the car to go screaming around in. They sound good in the mid-range and great at the top end with a good exhaust. Did you notice any difference in power/responsiveness?

tbh im not entirely sure the bloke straight away new what he wanted to do, Cat->Back 2 1/4 inch hotdog(resonator), sports muffler, and i think 3.5"tip.

Another thing that i wouldnt mind anyones opinion on it my old exhaust parts, my Dad reckons they could get a bit on eBay, thoughts and if any idea the value?

With an Outback, you'll find your old exhaust is worth more to you than you could sell it on the market because the sports exhaust is unlikely to add any value to the car and if anything, it might even turn potential buyers away.
