I have been meaning to make a build thread for a while, I bought my Forester back in February off Denlo Subaru. I was paranoid about getting a lemon so i wanted the warranty from a car yard and ended up purchasing this one. It had 90000 kms on the clock and was in great condition. Apart from a few scratches here and there on the outside I couldn't fault much about it.
From the moment of hearing the engine start I was hooked, it already had that deep boxer rumble and after a quick drive i was signing the papers. The car is half mine half the mrs but its manual so only I can drive and she is on her green p's so she is restricted from turbo cars LOL!
It started off pretty stock, had tint all round and and a turbo back exhaust (the carsalesman told me it a was a diff back hahahaha) I love the leather interior and the HUGE moonroof.
The first thing I bought were the rims, of another member from OzFoz. They were in excellent condition but the clear coat is slowly coming off and with good tyres load rated for the foz i couldnt say no. But what good is a Foz with 18's when its still at stock height?
So the hunt was on and I was able to track down some good quality coilovers at a great price off another member on RexNet. After a week of waiting it was transformed.
Since then I have been adding a few things here and there but i have been told to slow down to one mod a month (as long as it inst a ridiculous price) because the mrs and I go halves in all mods
The most recent additions are the CAI and the plates which i am most proud of.
Any way enough babbling on here it is

Looking good Aran. Looks especially good in the flesh.
I still am a bit hesitant to say those tints aren't purple. Where did you get them done?
Cheers,
Shazza
I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts, right off.

goddamn lovin the 2nd picture looks sexyy as with all those coloured lights
u set them up Aran?
Thanks dude.... yeh man i was just trying to light up the rims a bit more. I used two led torch's placed on the ground but the back one was more of a blue than a white light.
Mixed with the yellow from the street lights it created a really weird effect which I really liked

After installing the Prodrive CAI intake I wanted to fill the GIANT hole that was left from the resonatectomy. This was still allowing a small amount of warm air into the intake so I jumped on www.uzumaki.com and ordered myself a PMD blanking plate. Pretty self explanatory, and simple mod and since installing I have noticed the induction noise change slightly. No noticable kw increasage from the plate though
I wanted to continue on with the LED look as I have replaced the map lights and internal lights to LED. This required ordering some for the rear licence plate. After placing my order all had to do was wait....
At the same time a group buy came up on OzFoz for flexible windscreen wipers so I jumped on those and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. Streak free finish and only take 1 min to replace both.
So only small changes as of yet but plenty more to come.
Over the weekend i'm looking at replacing the OEM park lights with the pair that came with the Phillips Crystal Vision Ultra as they are the last yellow looking lights left on the car other than the fog lights (which I don't really use anyway)
Will also be spraying my rear tail lights with some nightshades to change the factory look further (worked out that with the 04 forester lights that the brake lights are on the top half so only looking at spraying the bottom half to keep it as non defectable as possible.....)
Also looking at customising my grill and finally getting my 02 STi scoop painted and fitted as well on the weekend (its only been sitting around for the last 4 months )
Warning.....

So the forester is up for the 100k service, and part of my warranties requirements is to have it done at an INCHCAPE authorised Subaru service centre.
All up $1761! I knew that this service would be expensive but FARK MAN, timing belt, water pump, all fluids filters and blah blah blah.........
At least i get to keep the warranty for another 2.5 years.......
