Hey all.

Have permission to salary sacrifice a new car in about 12 months from the minister of finance without needing to sell my B4.
Currently looking at maybe getting a nice shiny new liberty sedan, and wish to see peoples thoughts on them. I used to think they looked butt ugly, but as I keep looking at them, the shape seems to be growing on me.

If I were to get one, it would be GT Premium, but with quite a few options, and most of their available STi catalogue. I know this makes things expensive, but the mrs doesnt want me to fiddle with it unless its factory fiddled. Makes things more expensive, but then I know I keep my warranty, so its not all bad...

There is another vehicle its contending with also... FPV F6E. A difficult decision... its just lacking the AWD.

Please ignore any modding potential, as these vehicles need to stay pretty much standard to keep the other half happy. I'm quite happy spending my money on making the blue car faster anyways.

Just gadging opinions here, so please speak up!

Cheers,
Ben

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

It is ultimately your choice and you will like one better than the other in the end.

One of my dads business parntners has the GT Premium and loves it. Loved it so much in fact he thought the Gen5 Outback would be a good car for his Mrs. Weird guy :P

I have driven the standard FG G6E and it was actually quite nice. Good power delivery, comfortable, luxury...but a Ford!

Depends what you're after. I'd stick with the AWD GT personally and put up with it ugliness!

Do you have the choiice to get a wagon? Their not as bad as the sedan!

Actually went to Subaru Parramatta today and sat in the GT Premium... All I can say is WOOOOW! Very very nice inside... Push start button, leather, sunroof all electrics well worth the +$55K if u ask me... Front end is nice but the ass end... Camry/aurion...

In the end mate your decision

Dont mind the BR look, it has grown on me. But if it were me, I would go for the Sti Impreza.

I find them ugly, unless they have the rear spoilers and ****.. Someone on here has one, but it has a rear wing and rear lip and special exhaust tips, looks naise.

You'll only have it for three years I suppose, so the ford should last that long, straight line top speed - only on a racetrack will you ever see the difference and insurance won't cover that, cornering/handling - smaller is better, wet weather - AWD, gutter hopping - GT - but aside from that and as Morgan says - it's your choice!

Gees, I'd get the GT premium in a flash.

The last ford I had, I buried it in a lake. Good place for it I thought - pity we retrieved it - it looked much nicer with the lower half below the water line....that long station wagon look, lowered and with no wheel arches (in water)....a true thing of beauty.

To get a fair opinion, ask the question in a ford forum too - what do you expect the result to be from here?

Simple, get the Ford.

Better looks and more fasts.

The Ford would have more towing potentialz.

I'm leaning towards the Ford myself, seeing that you already have a Subaru that you're keeping.

Yes thread dig but who cares.
This is what will be replacing the falcon here shortly.................guaranteed.
They won't be able to continue making cars in this country shortly.
Read, twin turbo, AWD.
IMHO its a good looking car too.
I doubt that the Aussie model will handle as poorly as the report suggests.

In this country, you gotta make the money first.
Then when you get the money, you get the power.
Then when you get the power, then you get the women.
