Don't know if any of you guys have been along to any of the Driving Sports monthly twilight drift events out at eastern creek or not but if you haven't you should try and get to one. The are wicked fun!

Andy and i went out on Friday night and had a blast!! We both got to ride shotgun on a few laps with James “Jabbot” Abbot (Project D team member - who is going to be representing Australia at Superlap/World Time Attack this year) in the Boost Blitz S15 which was insane. He was practicing his lines for the Superlap event which was totally different to all the other guys out there on the night. Instead of linking a series of slower turns up the straights like most other guys, he was gunning it at 180kph down the short back straight into turn 10 before initiating into a drift right through to turn 12. Insane.

We also got a few runs with Lee Longin in one of the Driving Sport S15’s. He’s now the head drift coach at Driving Sports and mainly does exhibition driving now (has stopped competing all together). His style was COMPLETELY different to Jabbot but was just as intense. Unlike the first runs which we at full speed until the first main corners, Lee had us sideways straight out of the gates, linking maybe 15 turns in the space Jabbot did 3.

I tried to film a few in cars but after the first initiation I was just hanging on and not lose my camera out the window…

i think i'm in the market for an R32 now

Same

If there's one later in the year (Oct/Nov), on a Sat night, might check it out with a mate, hopefully some members might also be there.

Would be sooo keen, but work situation limits my involvement, will chuck it out there that it'd be cool to see a beater (Subaru or other) with massive SubyClub paintjob make an appearance at some motorsport event, we have enough tech heads and hookups to make something work, maybe a Cressida/S12/Gazelle/Commodore.

If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P
