Morning.

We've got torrential rain up here. Almost ran up the back of a Commodore on the way to work because they suddenly stopped for a big puddle. (Outback's don't see puddles)
Luckily I had enough cushion space as my grandmother would say :P

It's bucketing down here also, luckily there's nothing on my driveway at 6am.

There is a lot to be said for leaving a safe gap between you and the car in front.

Tailgaters should be bludgeoned to death with a mallet roadside to make an example of how pathetic they are and how rightfully they deserve death.

The problem with the safe distance (obviously I always leave a large gap, I'm from the country) is that people consider that a gap for them to tootle into in their car.

People who do that should also be bludgeoned to death under certain circumstances.

I don't understand any of that :P

Re my little scare this morning; safe gaps are crucial!

I did see them slow down while I was still a fair way off but I wasn't expecting them to come to a complete stop before entering the puddle. That's what threw me off!

Had to brake heavily which made me lock up in the wet and had to swerve a bit to assist with slowing the car down... May have been more than I needed to do as it is harder to judge distance in the pouring rain

If you hear a thud you are too close, simple way to judge distance in the wet.

You must have seriously slammed on the brakes to lock up. Is your ABS broken? If anything Subaru's ABS is shit because it is so intrusive!

I just bought an electric exhaust cutout.

I've had 2 different end pieces of my exhaust for ages, and used to swap them quite regularly when I was bored. And it took me about half an hour like a schmuck.

My loud one:

My quiet one:

Now all I need to do is weld in a Y piece before my quite exhaust. And click a button when I want the loud noises to happen.
:)

WINNING.

Sort off like this but in 3"

Then you weld an angle pipe down after the valve.

If his is the same as the B4's it is the most intrusive ABS system in the known universe.

My exhausts are perfect. I put the loud on for cruises and the normal for everyday.

Now I can change with a button without having to restrict it like a biitch like a Varex does.

+ to that. It is very poorly done.

Exhaust cut out thing kind of reminds me of the thing they have from factory :P

Hmm I suppose a combination of hard/heavy/wet braking was enough to lock it up.
Was only for a second as I took my foot of the pedal and used gears to slow down as well as minimal braking.

Now all I need to do is weld in a Y piece before my quite exhaust. And click a button when I want the loud noises to happen.

Imma let you finish, but X-Force already did this...

Oh you mean that valve/cable on the stock exhaust that everyone has tucked up into the guard because no-one has the stock exhaust system anymore?
