The reasoning behind this is because they are not of adult age, meaning you cannot legally without prior authorisation display or distribute images of them. You will notice on the news, that if they are looking for a 17y/o criminal (honestly I find this STUPID) they will blur the face. Age of consent and being under aged are two different things. Under aged is a broader term that could then be applied to specific scenarios, such as intercourse, driving, drinking, being tried in court (17 and 3 months and the judge can deem you old enough to be tried as an adult (ask me how I know :/)).

They consider the age of 16 to be appropriate for people to make adequate decision about their personal sex life, but not deemed mature enough to make legal responsibility decisions for themselves.

To quickly clear this up, how would you feel about a 16y/o porn star? I bet your first thought if that was in the title of the video would be "surely that's illegal"

Clearly there are grey areas, but I don't think anyone can argue that laws of this nature have to be blanket. You could argue that a 21 year old engaging a 17 year old (I don't care which sex is older, unlike you creeps) is fine. But the line must be drawn somewhere.

I'm not having a go at anyone here, and I'm clearly an old man on the internet. I am just constantly amazed at the complacency that people are building towards desensitisation of personal lives simply because it's online.

Think about some of the things we've talked about on here. Most of us divulged where we live, what bank we're with, what car we drive, where we work, what we look like, how much money we spend each week on various things.

On that one though, Jordan - I believe juvenile offences won't show up on a Police check to the person that requested the clearance - but damn right the officer printing it will look at you after they read the screen, knowing exactly what you did when you were 17.

Hmmm..... All good info Nikko It is good to make people aware, I know I get very complacent and say far too much that I really shouldn't.

I think we talk on here as if we were all face to face talking as mates.. rather than over the internet for the world to see.
