That gay volcano has stopped Sydney airport basically from 4pm today and could be for a few days, Sister is down here for work, was supposed to fly out at 4:40 today - flight cancelled... had to get her a ticket on an XPT up the coast, got the last seat we could for today! ******* lucky... will get home at 11:45 instead of about 6:30 though.. that kind of fails.

When we got our flight back from NZ cancelled cos of the ash they said the other option was to fly to auckland for $400 and try fly out from there. $400 was more than our return airfares to NZ to begin with! We just stayed another night with friends then got one of the last planes out the next day before kore were cancelled
