The reason the filter is called VIGNETTE is because it branches out, like a leaf, from a central point. I believe originally it was referred to as a vignette as a description of a 'vine leaf' from a vineyard. I live on a vineyard so the term rings bells for me. Also, living on a vineyard and tending to my vines makes me officially a 'vigneron' which is a person who... well.. tends to vines.

Vinaigrette is an awesome salad dressing.
