Hey guys and gals,

Quick question, just wondering if anyone has seen or done themselves a mod which involves removing the side bumpers on the outback (grey lower bumper bit)?
This would ultimately make it look more like a liberty wagon, would it not?
Just curious as to what it would look like? Would it look nice? Or just a waist of time?
Any info or better yet, pictures anyone has on this topic would be awesome! I dont even know if it can be done?

Thanks for any help :)

They are just cladding AFAIK but because of the ~10 years of gunk buildup, it would look terrible underneath.

You could clean it up but it would still be a different colour because it's never seen the sun.

Plus the front and rear bars would still be the grey colour

^^ that's the look I'm going for with mine.
Eventually get the bottom half resprayed, looks better IMO with the wider body cladding rather than slimmer with the liberty.
Especially when lowered like Grahams outback.

Although my outback is a long way off his, that's what I'm trying to eventually achieve.
White bottom half
Lowered
Wrx/sti turbo conversion
Similar wheels

Mind you that's after a lot of money saved, and a hell of a lot more kowledge on cars and subarus.

Thanks for the quick replies! :)

Good point Morgan.

That outback looks AWESOME Alex!! I cant really see by the pictures, but has that outback had the door bumpers removed? Or has everything just been sprayed, and if so would it be as simple as just getting the color code and spraying the bumpers or would the whole body have to be sprayed??
I will be looking into at least trying to make my outback look remotely look like that! Dont get me wrong, I love the look of the outback stock, i just think that there could be some improvements...

Keep it coming :D

You could try to colour match the bumpers, but being an 8 or 10 year old car, the paint may not be the same anymore.
In that picture the bumpers have been painted over (I think, unless it was a h6 model which cone factory with a pearl white colour), I've heard unless you replace the doors off a liberty/legacy, it can't be done or is pretty difficult.

I've had a quote by a local spray shop for just the body cladding and bumpers- $2300
That's what's deterring me at the moment.

The colour match on that outback is perfect, it's looks 10 million times better then the colour coded h6. I'd be surprised if it didn't have a full respray. I see it weekly, it certainly does stand out.

You still see Gee's outback?

That thing is mofo pimped out.

I would have snapped it up if I didn't have the GTB.

Properly delifted too. Forgot what suspension it ran. It's an AMAuto conversion also ;)
