Hey guys, i was thinking that since ive done most of the suspension work i had planned for my car it may be time to start looking at some exhaust options.

Basically, im looking for a system or half system..whatever, that will give my car a bit of a deeper sound. Im not really after the boxer rumble but then again i dont want it to sound like a fart.

I have about $500 to spend and was just wanting some advice on past experiences, recommendations or things to steer clear of. My thoughts so far are either with a cat-back system or a full system.
Found some examples.."probably shitty"

Go to your local exhuast shop, get a diff-back muffler made up, prob cost $200 tops. if it doesnt sound deep enough for you then buy some headers of ebay.

Personally i wouldnt waste your time getting a cat back made up, it won't make any difference. best thing about doing it like i said is if in a few years when you sell your car or get sick of the noise you have the stock OEM stuff to bolt back on :) and can sell what you have.

Yeah, i was thinking that would be the most sensible way to go about it. As far as sound, is it just a standard piping from there with a new muffler?

..yeah its sorta like, i want a little bit of that burble :P but not so much as to make it sound like a wrx

Yeah just tell them you wanna keep your stock muffler and they'll use a new flange and pipe, with an oval muffler. also good for road trips cause you can swap back to stock set-up easy as. just do that first, and see what you think.

As said in the thread its stock with a diff back muffler set-up.

Got the xforce muffler second hand for $150 fitted, but that was like 3 years ago, under $200 you should be able to get the headers new of ebay, or around $150 second hand.

Nup just explain to them what you want and they'll be more help then almost anyone online could be, it is their job after all :)

Should easy be able to do the muffler and headers for under $500 easy, just look around on forums and ebay :)

maybe something like this and get the tips made straight
