Hi fellas

I'm looking for a new (2nd hand) car at present. Budget is fairly open at the moment, but is <$20k. Having said that, the less i spend on a car, the more that can go towards mods etc. Which is almost what i would prefer.

I think an outback with the H6 is the go for me. Practical yet still looks nice yada yada yada. I'm not trying to have a car that will win at the track or anything, just a nice cruiser for driving to from uni and down south every now and then.

Will the gen 3 H6 outback be good enough? Or will it disappoint me? i've been in a few gen 4 outbacks with the H6 and I'm quite impressed by them.

Thoughts anyone?

I recommend Gen3 2.5 Outbacks. They have the manual option with dual range and a perfect example is for sale at the moment... :)

2.5 doesn't do it for me. Drove around in one for the last ~6 months, slow as shit. Also i have no need for dual range.

I have actually been thinking of doing that.

Even the SC sticker you reckon?

It's currently sitting on the side of the road on a dirt patch. Drove past it yesterday and it's covered in a nice layer of dust..
Time for another wash!

Yeah man, some people get funny about cars that are affiliated with car clubs etc... a hoon perception.

Some won't wory about it.. but others will. :D

I thought the same thing, I'd be wary of a stickered car! I like to think my potential new car is a virgin and has never been driven hard e.t.c

Hi,

I have enjoyed the trouble free motoring my 3.0R OBK has given me. Never really left wanting at the lights, luckily enjoys the 5AT instead of the 4.

Mine is for sale if you're looking for the best example of the marque.

Cheers,
Nik

Price? Bin lids extra? Bilsteins extra?

Is there a massive difference betwen the 5AT and 4AT?

Cheers

Hi Martin,

Come down and drive it. She sits bone stock right now (for sale) but as if I'd charge you for the bin lids/ suspension.

Cheers,
Nik

Yeah no worries. I'll have to catch a lift down with Richo or Brett when they head down next. Having been in that car it did impress me and i like the style of the OBK. Good service history and always looked after...

LOL @ editing Shiv's post too.
