As you may know the CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) takes place in Perth from Friday October 28 to Sunday October 30.
All of you and your families will one way or another be impacted by this event. Here a brief heads-up.
- Friday 28 October is a Public Holiday (this instead of the usual Public Holiday on the Footy Grand Final day in early October)
- Friday morning - St Georges and Adelaide Terrace as well as Mill Street will be closed to all Traffic. The Parmelia Building will have pedestrian access only (for those who may have to come in for client support duties). The Parmelia Car Parking cannot be accessed.
- The Convention Centre Car Parking will be closed from Thursday midnight to Sunday evening. The City of Perth will provide alternative free parking to tenants – should this be required for this period of time.
- The Esplanade Bus Station will be closed from Thursday midnight to Sunday evening. Transperth will publish re-routing of bus services and timetables
We will communicate to you further updates as they become available.
In the meantime here a couple of QA’s issued by the City of Perth
How will the city be affected by CHOGM?
CHOGM is a major international event in which more than 50 Presidents, Prime Ministers and foreign ministers from those countries and a large number of delegates will be in Perth. Therefore, this is a major event with great benefits for Perth, but which can't take place without having some impact on the CBD.
What about pedestrian traffic?
Pedestrian movement around the CBD won't be restricted, except on the Friday morning when the public won't be able to cross St Georges and Adelaide Terrace during the motorcade movements. The Government wants people to visit the city during CHOGM, to witness CHOGM comings and goings, take part in the public events during CHOGM or simply shop.
At all other times, WA Police doesn't expect pedestrian traffic along St Georges Terrace and other parts of the city to be significantly affected. Those periods of traffic disruption will be well advertised in advance and the public notified through the media.

Any of you chumps know any males with a hyphenated surname?
If you do - was it their choice? ie. did they take it from their wife or was it a family name passed down etc..?
Isn't Dylan's hyphenated but he just hides it?
Dylan F-lovegod or something like that.
Do you know how he gained the double barrel name?
I've been reading about it (slow day at work) and it can either be;
1) Traditional for their parents/their culture
2) Mother and father were not married, so took both names
3) Parents are gay
4) Pu55y whipped.
HAHAHA. Yes I have one, Mum's then Dad's last name. License, bank, birth cert. all have that, rest of stuff I just use Mum's name. They never got married, were together for 16 years so I just was fortunate enough to get a long assed name.
