Got everything ready to upgrade to the 4pots except the backing shims.. Got some bendix ultimates and realised after that i didnt have the backing shims.. then i was told that the only way to get them is to order a set of pads from subaru and they come with them.. this i dont want to do as i already have the ultimates..

but after digging around i found this,

4 pot parts list

which has the shims with the part number 26298FE010

just wanting to clarify can u buy these seperatly and if u cant does anyone have some spares there willing to part with???

Call a Subaru parts centre and ask mate :D

Some douches who have NFI will try and tell you that they need to punch a VIN into the system etc but I know for a fact they can search by part numbers etc :D

26298FE010 is a shim kit - does both sides and RRP is $98.22.
Or you can buy the inners and outers separately, Inner 26233FA010 and Outer 26233FA000, RRP is $9.59ea and you need four (4) of each, so total is $76.72, dunno how a kit is dearer than buying them separate...

I'll back in they have to come from Japan too.

2002 Outback - it's gone...

Right i decided not to worry about the metal shims as a couple places told me that the stuff on the back on the bendix ulimates does the job.. but now i have a new problem.. started installing the hole new setup, AVO dogbones, 330mm rotor, wrx 4 pot caliper and all.. got it all bolted up and went to put my pads in.. wont fit..

the space between each piston in the caliper is roughly at 56mm and thats with all the pistons bottoming out..
the new rotor is about 25-26mm wide and each pad is about 16-17mm wide.. this means that with all of them in, im over by about 1-4mm..

has this ever happened to anyone else.. im thinking i need to take the pads somewhere and get between about 1-2mm taken off each one..

what do you guys think??

Are you using the AVO rotors? Or the STI ones? The STI rotors are thicker then AVO rotors which were custom made.

I ordered the whole kit, AVO dogbone adapters and the rotors to suit.. wouldnt surprise me if they were sti ones.. waited 3 months from the day i ordered them till the day i got the kit.. the stock rotors to suit the 4 pots are only 25mm thick so i may only be over by 1mm.. is it a tight fit on the standard setup???
