I have seen a gc8 with the rear door handles shaved. That looked alright. Thought it was a 2 door coupe from a distance away.

if your seriously thinking of doing it i suggest researching some v5 or v6 2 door rex's before committing to going through with such a major project. it will cost you A LOT of money to do what you're asking and since they already came as a 2 door you'd be better off selling up and buying the factory optioned version.
i have a mate who's making a 2 door drift car from a v6 sti at the moment and the cost is going to be north of 100k once they're all done (includes all mods but the body work is still a major part of the cost)
Andy's rear fender conversion was the best part of 10k i think to give an idea.

If you are worried about public perception, I'd stick with a 2 door over turning an AWD Subaru into a drift pig.
The best way to turn a Subaru into a drift car, is to sell it, and buy a drift car.
Don't take me the wrong way, I'm not trying to piss on your ideas. But you do need to realise that a lot of people have asked these questions before. There is a reason you see Subaru's doing rallies, and 180sx's doing drift competitions. There is a reason people that want a 2 door car, buy a 2 door car.
Cheers,
Nik

Its not uncommon for manufactures to build cars this way as production costs are less when producing 4 and 2 door versions of the same car.
As mentioned many times, the cost would be excessive as the body would need to be stripped to a bare shell and extensively braced before any cutting and welding began.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
