Saw a Landcruiser towing a big boat hit a crosswind and go into a full on drift at 120 on the otherwise of the road about an hour ago. Lock to lock i reckon. Almost made me shit my pants.
Kennards Hire ute towing some massive garden machine on a trailer. I was a couple of cars behind but saw the thing swinging from side to side like a BO$$.
Scary
Years ago I was on a club run to a drag strip out in the country. Im in my mates GT following another mate in his XU-1 who was behind a bloke towing his Monaro (old one) with a HQ 6cyl wagon.
Travelling along a two lane highway the trailer behind the old HQ gets the sways up so the XU-1 shoots past, then it really gets cranking. The HQ is running along the center of the highway and the back end of the trailer is all but over the gravel and we're doing about 80kph.
We're now thinking that we will be recovering bits of busted Holden from the surrounding bush. I turn to my mate and say "Faark, He needs a hill to get out of this!" but instead we come to a bend in the road, and he makes it! This continues for what feels like an eternity.
Still swaying all over the place he passes a cop hiding in the bushes. She pulls out and blasts up the highway on the wrong side of the road to clear the oncoming cars but she can't get past.
Eventually we hit the smallest hill you've seen and it all settles down so we stop
The HQ is boiling its brains out due to being held at full throttle to try to pull out of it, one of the tyres on the trailer has spat off its tread, the boot mounted battery in the Monaro has come adrift and bashed the shite out of the rear quarters and the cop tells him to buy a lotto ticket and lets him off with a warning.
On the return trip we check the distance.
More than 4kms.
Every time I see a car on a trailer, it reminds me of that day.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Katie and I were heading up to Morisset a few years ago in the 80 series and a VT Commo wagon right in front of us with an empty car trailer got the wobbles. Ended up flying across all 3 lanes, jack knifing and doing a fair bit of damage to the car (owned for 1 week) and trailer (hired for the day).
We were the only ones who pulled over to make sure they were ok. They were.
I assume it is more beneficial to increase speed to get out of that situation rather than braking? Is that correct? The incident I saw this morning happened as the ute was heading down the freeway exit - slowing down...

Hahahaha waaaahhhhh???
I don't like when wheels tuck under the guards most times. Looks out of proportion, or something off about it!
Just looked at pic again. Maybe I'm just retarded and need sleep!
