My stock headers are brokens, and dont look like they can be welded back up, but ya never know. Anyway my idea was getting an exhuast shop to make up a new header section, i was thinking of getting bigger pipe like 2.25"/2.5" then later on getting a full system to te size (when i cans afford it) Does anyone have any recomendations or tips? i was thinking just a Y shape but trying to have it un-even a bit to keep the boxer sound thanks , Mark

You should be able to weld it. Failing that PM Mav, he looked into custom extractors for his 3.0r and I think he was quoted around $240. You may also want to Contact Datman.

Got a quote today from an exhuast shop for extractors (not sure what type think a Y style) and a high flow cat...$495 thats cause the cat is apparently $300 itself... I got a mate from work to take my car up and get that quote, the zorst guy said he can use my stock cat now if i wont. I'm gonna get a few more qoutes tomorrow, aswell as go and see the guy again and talk to him in person. wish ebay still had them headers, can only get em from the states now

Depends on how rooted your current one is. They're supposed to only last 6-12months :P. I think its law that they be changed after that period anyway. Not sure on that one though.

Mine is roughly 216 months old

So if it is the law that means mine should have been repaled 36-18 times

At $300 a pop thats f**king expensive!

I'm pretty sure the law is you have to have one...in tact, so if they only last 6-12months then i guess your "supposed" to replace them.

IMO aslong as you have one the authoritys wont care. Also hear the fines can get pretty big for not having one. Which is why i wouldnt cut mine out.

Yeah for sure mate. Honestly, If you were going to do the rest of the exhaust as well, I'd say you might as well grab the cat while your at it. I can pretty well guarantee you it doesn't flow as well as it did 16yrs ago.

Got the new muffler on today after looking at it from a different direction it turned out to be an xforce oval twin tip, unsure of model/part number, the guy gave it a polish and it come up brand new!
Also put a new stud in my engine for where the header pipes bolt to and a new gasket. I got to watch it all happen, and the guy explained everything he did to me.
My tow bar prevented a perfect mounting of the muffler but it still looks good. A really top quality job done.

$165 in total which included the muffler, which was 2nd but looks pretty new.
