Spot on Billsy, this is what I was getting at, once both turbos are going you can't really overspin the primary and the secondary because together they can take more gas than is produced, hence no huge overboost probs with std turbos, in the scenario in this video it is blatent stupidity anyway, you always need some sort of protection, and the VF12/14 combo is good for this as you still have a secondary wastegate whose duty cycle is nearly always zero until you make stupid mods like this one. you will get bad overboost with std turbos if you free the intake and exhaust, its just much worse when you port and play with everything.

PS, the vf12 is a large single from the AU RS lib you mean 13.

and vf13/14 are MUCH smaller than the later turbos and have crappy designed blades.
