I was inspecting my engine bay thoroughly this morning and i found this...
There appears to be a bolt missing... Is this right or wrong? If i get a bolt to put in there do i just tighten it where it is or move it toward the front or back?

Hi,
I'm no expert mate, but I draw the same conclusion as you. Definitely looks like there WAS a fixing there before? I wouldn't know what kind of bolt you'd need though, they might need some play instead of being tightened right up?
I know. I'm tits on a bull sometimes.
Cheers,
Nik

Should be a bolt there!
Stops the engine rocking backwards and forwards. Pretty sure it's just a bolt that tightens up onto the bush.
Don't think it's anything special!

Yes, has a 14MM bolt and Nut on there usually, Strength 6 from memory
Its called the Pitch Stopper and it most definitely should be fixed ASAP
do you notice your car is jerky on shifts?
fix this and check your engine mounts haven't cracked!
oh and slap a blob of wheel bearing grease on your Clutch slave cylinder piston.. it looks nasty and you will notice a difference! just where it hits the clutch fork.

you may have to use a lever to push the mounting arm into position before the bolt will go in easily. Usually there is a small amount of pre-load on this mount.
