Morning all.

Prepping/painting two more bedrooms today.

One room has a dodgy old fan. I want to remove it, and replace it with a new fan.

But my mate sparky won't be around to mine until Thursday to replace it.

Will it be ok to leccy tape the wires? Or should I buy some terminals and terminate them? (Naturally after I've shut down the power!!)

Dodgey, I know, but I need to paint, and patch repair a dodgy switch.

terminate properly lol. No dodgy shit. Think wat would u do if it was your car.

IMO I think u should remove the old swith put a normal light switch and get a new fan thats controlled by a remote. So much better.

Why not just take the old switch off, and be extra careful around the wires? It's only 240v ?

240v can kill make sure it's dead. U can't use a new switch on the old fans need to change the whole lot.

Alex,

Kill the power and pull the switch out from the wall and paint around it.

Put it back on the wall but leave the screws loose so it wont stick to the wet paint.

Turn power back on.

Shithouse morning.

Went down to my missus car this morning to find the passenger side front window smashed, and her car has been ransacked.

Pulled everything out of the glovebox, put shit everywhere. Took all the money my fiancee has been raising for Movember too. Pulled the GPS out of the glovebox, and left it on the front seat. Stole her spare keys, and dumped them on the gutter next to the car.

It makes me think they are kids. Farking hell. Right before xmas too.

Thieving pricks. Got a new front window for $100 so will install it this afternoon. No point claiming on insurance, as it will be less then the excess to fix.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts, right off.
