So, I decided to pop into the local performance dyno place today. The main mechanic there didn't know what a B4 was and how it worked. Was just getting quotes on a possible catback for the new year. Doubt I'll ever be going back there.

I would suggest going elsewhere.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

He looked at the motor and was like. 'HMMMM', then proceeded to make it seem like a super expensive exercise to weld up a catback. I was happier with another exhaust shops response, so might end up going there to do it - he did want me to go the whole system turboback for silly money. Had a vague idea of what it was, but again, no real experience with them. The only place I have been recommended is CnJ Performance but they are southside.

$1200 for catback, if I bring the muffler, I had to hold back the laughter. Other quote was $550, about $850 with a muffler at an exhaust specific shop. I have an xforce mp02 I picked up cheap, whether or not I use it is another story. Also they always assume I am chasing power gains when all I really want is a bit of growl :P

Thanks mate, just ordered a Fiesta for $800.

:(

Why is my older sister so dependant on her younger brother? She costs me about 2 large, without fail, every Christmas.

Flights/food/accomm/now car rental for some reason/presents so she doesn't feel embarrassed.

If all you want is growl just put a diff back on there.

I got this as well. They went one step further and treated me as if i knew nothing and continued to press that i wouldn't get much out of them (which i already knew because i had done my research)

Once i explained all i wanted was noise they said "Put a cannon on it". Which im still tossing up about.

Yep second hand sports muff ftw if all you want is a bit of noise.
Mine cost me $50 and some carefully placed strikes witha rubber mallet to fit.

Of course being an N/ A 2.5 it now sounds like a Honda.

Sig worthy.

I am considering using the MP02 as a diffback, a couple guys on ozlib have done this with a decent note to it. I was just satisfying my curiousity and my suspicions of the mechanics in the area were right. Unless its a Falcodore or something basic they get a bit quesy, my mate had similar trouble with his WRX when it had a knock sensor fail.

I don't want a cannon at all. Exactly right, they all have this look on their face like, 'I cbf with this'.

http://s434.photobuc...nt=MVI_8623.mp4 this is a diffback MP02, you might have to hover on the video and actually download the file and play though, its borked.

Those are the same ones I have. I thought they were a great suspension setup. Not too harsh, but stiff enough to minimize body roll.
