Shaz, is it true that pre-1988 cars are allowed 20%?

If the tint was fitted prior to the 1/8/94, then it is legal

1988 rule also works sometimes.

As I was saying yesterday, another point to bring up, IF the inspector is a narky bastard, is to mention the fact that Privacy Glass on almost every new vehicle, is around a 23% VLT, which is darker then legal.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

I would guys, however this is something I have done on 3 other car forums, and all I got was bullshit like " thats not what you do" or "Ive always done it this way and its way better" and shit like that. I will never

Hahaha, I can vouch for this. Not that anyone would doubt Brettlez anyway. But my lord, some of the comments.... hahahaha.

I'm giving my girl a bath today in preparation for new headlights and back to dropped on binlidded spec tomorrow.

:D

Also, if you guys are looking for a good detailing resource in a forum format, check TeamSpeed's detailing section, pretty high end gear.

In my 6 years of tinting so far, Nick is the first person I know of to have been defected for dark tint. I have had dark tint on my car since I was 18, and have not had any issues once.

And more then likely, the reason they went over his car with a fine tooth comb, is because his exhaust is louder then a 747 taking off.

Hahaha. Sorry man, but its true.

I don't think Nick is going to dispute the exhaust being the main cause for his scrutiny.

@Tint: One amazing thing in WA is that 'venetian blinds' are allowed as long as they don't obstruct rear view... Any old Celica GT owners know what I'm talking about. Odd as hell rule, considering how strict they are on tintzzzz.

Haha it's totally true though guys. I had 20% on my liberty for 18 months, and I never got pulled over.

Only reason my tint got done was because they took me to a full RTA inspection station and did the full once over of my car.

Actually shaz, the report says it's 16%.. nice margin of error there hey. One other bloke had 5% and it came up as 1%.

Did they actually test it did they?

It definitely isn't 16%. Thats a massive margin of error.
Just say you bought it tinted already, and you'll be sweet.

So Xon got back to me about the exhaust... Its gonna be over $150 for shipping... So... Should i...
A: grin and bear it.
B: Get him to chop off the pipe and just send the muffler with tip and mounts attacked.
C: Go get one made up with an oval muffler at the local place for around ~$100

Dunno what the local one is gonna sound like when built, which is why im a little more leanient for Xon's gear... But shipping is a killer. (makes it over $250)
