The heat exchanges in my brew house have 14 plates, so the cooling inlet spreads across 7 plates and the hot outlet does the same so as to make it more efficient. They are only about the size of a tissue box each. Even with inlet cooling at -6deg I can only drop from ~80 to ~20deg in about 1 minute.

I didn't even know people used water/air on Subaru's. That's really cool. It's surprising that a 12V pump would be able to keep up!

What sort of cooling efficiency % does it have?

Why did you go this over FMIC Matt?

Mainly didnt wanna hack up the front end, particularly the crash bar (there isnt much room in the front end of gen3's :(......also Michael has been testing these lately and found really, really good results for a daily drive (hes running a smaller setup on his 350+kwatw 2 door)...more consistent temps etc, and its looks more legal lol

Yeah some people think its useless on subies but a few people in the US have proved it works when setup properly, and ss said MSR had been testing them with great results

Cooling efficiency, i dont know? Heres the links to the site with all the info i have...theyre apparently good for 600hp!!

Cool mate, thanks for the links. Your pump is going to cost twice as much as your cooler!

SublimeFoz (Brett) will probably be interested in this too. We both use heat exchangers at the brewery.

Yay! I know something about something!

Note: The water inlet and outlet on most water/air intercoolers are BPT threads. BPT fittings are difficult to find in the United States, so ours all come with NPT threads.

Be prepared!

Yep, but these are the reason why they get such a bad name, as the rs w2a was really inefficient...w2a technology has really advanced since those days (more efficient cooler, dual pass exchangers, higher flow pumps pumping continously, not activated by boost etc)

All good mate, what makes you say the pump will cost that much?

I'd say a pump for that flow rate would be about $500.

But like I said, I've been wrong before!!

Dunno? A custom fmic costs roughly $1500-1600 from AMauto

This setup costs
Cooler $150
Exchanger $150
Pipework and fittings $100-200 depending on quality
Pump $50-300 depending on quality
Fitting is free as ill do most of it except for rotating the turbo
Plus a bit of wiring, a few mods to the cooler (bleed nipple etc) and maybe a $50 fan for the radiator?

Matt - I'll send you some details of my mates PWR W2A custom setup on his Club Spec Evo 4. He has 10 CO2 sprayers that freeze his W2A tank, and a massive heat exchanger, mounted under the car, to the right of the gearbox, with a custom under car air scoop thats moulded in with his under body diffuser. Pretty sure his water pump is from a offshore racing boat bilge pump or similar. Will get you some deets.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

@Nik Hahaha I didn't think I ended up saying anything to you about it. Haha oh well you're twice as informed now.

So who's looking forward to the media bash after bob hawke's beer scull? All the press will be saying how he is such a bad example to young people.
