Though Kt and I are good savers. There are often unexpected expenses that appear week to week but on an average fortnight, we're able to put away at least $1k. Adds up fast

I had to borrow some cash off dad to pay buy the XT and a few other things. I paid $11k off in about a month. Granted that included the sale of my GT wheels and a Pulsar but I was very happy with that. Only paid $41 in interest

Oh I forgot, I did put another 14K into my shares since last June, and 10K into gold, so I guess that is kind of saving in a round about way?
Closest I have ever gotten to saving anyways. How do you actually have the self control to do it?

What is this self control you speak of?
Its what gets you a new car, and investment options at 21. Should try it kiddo.

It's very satisfying watching that balance grow

LuckehYeah, my mum and dad sort of let me squander my money when i was younger so that i would know what its like to just lose $3k in one day. So now they consult me, plus i have mates who were accountants and hedge fund managers, and real estate agents. So by myself im useless, i just have the right people around me.
I grew up never having money, and every time the family got money it got spent within the week. (got like $1100 from nan dying... they went and bought a commo 3 days latter)
In the last few years while i have been working i have been earning stupid low money and spending it almost as fast as it came in (until about 18 months ago) Now when i try and save things break and i have to fix it :/

Lightning has sparked a fire at Orica's Newcastle chemical plant, which only reopened last week after a string of leaks.
A bolt of lightning struck a stack of the Kooragang Island ammonia plant that was venting hydrogen about 10pm yesterday, the ABC reports
The plant was shut down in August after hexavalent chromium fumes leaked near more than 70 homes in the beachside suburb of Stockton, near Newcastle.
