Hey , thinking of swapping the bonnet of my 06 3.0rb to the GT version. does anyone know if they are a straight swap or is it worth mucking around with. i think it would look awesome with the sound of a 3.0 6cyl.

If it does fit, where do you think the best place to look for one is?

just another project..

I think the whole GT front end would look pretty good on the 3rb, people will whinge that its not a turbo, but who cares..its your car ;)

lSpeak to the guys at liberty.asn ....or if you can convince a gen4 guy to trial fit a bonnet to see if they fit?

Dunno where youd get one as theyre still a relatively new car...and i dont think many if any import wrecks have come into the country

Would love a turbo but i love my license more.

Dont need a turbo to lose your licence lol

yeah i know, but every little bit helps, the whistle of the turbo goes hand in hand of the wail of police sirens, not cool and too many $$$$$

There's a difference between a whistle coming from a 1995 Charade and a 2007 Liberty.

bonnet will probably fit, you may need to remove the splitter for the intercooler though as it may foul on the engine cover of the H6.

IMO you have a pretty sweet ride, H6 are a nice cruiser i wouldn't go changing this by getting more attention with a turbo bonnet

Not cool? I think not....turbo is where its at :D No cops ever pulled me up because of a whistle....launching from lights and going a wee bit too fast yeah

But thats my lead foot, not the cars fault....you can drive a turbo slow if you can control yourself

I haven't heard a whistling turbo subaru... in stock form anyway.

I speed in my mums Astra more than I speed in mine (unintentionally), its quieter and it actually moves quite well for a 1.8, I don't notice the speed lol.

A GT bonnet on a NA is like putting an STi badge on your regular Subaru in my opinion. Its ok, but I wouldn't do it. I have seen the GT bumper on a 3.0RB though, and that looked better, I don't like the lengths of plastic on the 3.0 bumper.

I think its a cool idea and yes it will fit if you trim or remove the spliter , i made my car look like a prototype subaru was toying with in japan
which was the tuned by sti version of the outback , people think it silly that i have sti badges on my car but the only thing my car is missing is
brembro brake which are coming when the fund are there
so good luck with the mod let me know how you go

Mine is the RB, got a exhaust that sounds choice, nice little gurgle on idle, and after 4g it's sound really comes to life.

Just thinking to make it look like a touch sportier but still lux cruiser..

Now to find one to get a idea on price. Cheers for the all the input guys

Bonnet is a direct replacement from turbo to 3.0.

I personally know a person or two who have a turbo bonnet on their 3.0.

My entire JDM spec B front was sold and I fitted it to a 3.0.

I know someone in Sydney who has one for sale. He has a 3.0 but now is not going to fit it.

Its all personal preference. If you want to do it, do it.
