Love the car man, Really like this colour.

you get some cheap Tamiya (good brand) elec RC cars out of Hong Kong off ebay
not tamiya but if you just want a rolling chassis to have as a model http://www.ebay.com....=item33695ed3dc

Man I went nuts when I was over there...... Everything is massively cheaper, More so when bought from the shops as ebay sellers put the price up abit......

I happened to find a B4 when I was over there to paint...... but just the model not the RC cars

Use to have a photo of one of the stores inside, stocked from the floor to the roof of models.

suspected Big end bearing, just need to wait and pick it up then get it looked at.

i was in Canberra, lucky i have a friend who lived 17ks away from where i stopped so the tow truck was only cheap, now during the week we are going to get a car trailer and go pick it up. sad, and i use my car for work, i have to take clients around town, hope they dont mind walking.

shame about the big end such a nice car. if its in canberra tekworks would be a good option to have it looked at.

car for work = single turbo tax writeoff

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

it would have been about 3g if i got it towed home.

going to have a talk to a few people tomorrow about it, 2 options are WRX STI motor or new block and rebuild current motor.

Mate, sti motor ftw!

Seriously, you might spend a bit extra, but it will pay off!

Theres also the guy that did mine( in canberra too) and there's a v6 sti on eBay for 2,5k at the moment which would look great in a b4...

ok so i got my quote, and its $3900 give or take depending how smoothly it goes.

thats for a New Short Block from Subi, getting it done at the Subaru Dealer aswell. we are actually getting most parts at cost price and $10/hr Labour cheaper than normal.
atleast getting done by Subi i will have alot more warrenty on the engine than i will with a 2nd hand motor

That's bad luck mate. Just interested, is it not worth opening them up to just replace the bearing? What else usually gets taken out when this bearing goes?

just been told that the Piston is hitting either the Valve or the Crankcase, so i dare say thats why you dont just replace the bearings

Damn. Seems like a decent price from a dealer. Might seem expensive compared to other options but I do see the appeal in just getting it back to the way it was plus the peace of mind of the brand new engine.

some people will say i should have gone STI motor or what not. but this way i KNOW im getting a good motor and its not going to happen in 5000ks later on. i will have alot more warrenty on the motor, yes i may not have as much power and everything, but i like the twins, and everyone seems to do it, so in 5 yrs time the Twin Turbo B4s will be rare :P
