What I'm saying, Adam, is that giving a teenager a LIFETIME DRIVING BAN is a Posted Image'ing ridiculous action to take. Almost incomprehensible that he would think taking away a licence from someone who doesn't even have it yet would result in them restoring personal faith in the Australian justice system.

Pretty sure I'd be a pissed off ladrix.

I'm not condoning 'tagging', and I'm not defending it just because I do it, it's just these crazy ideas that shit me.

Couldn't find one legal program in the Hills district, Josh.

If anything it would probably have the opposite to desired effect, the dude is going to be pretty much forced to grow up with a more limited lifestyle, serving time and never being able to get a license... not a great start in life. As you have also already said, not going to restore his faith in the justice system at all, just a fast tracked way of creating a useless antisocial criminal.

I think it's Posted Image'ed that you can lose your car licence for drunk bicycle riding.

After a night out on the piss. We tend to get home (forgetting to get maccas or HJ's on the way home) and have a midnight ride, smashed.

Good fun, have run into a few kurbs along the way. But Posted Image getting your car licence taken away for it.

What I'm trying to say here, that you shouldn't get punished another way for doing something else.
His punishment should be to clean tags off everywhere for a few weeks. Or something like that.
Not getting his licence taken away.
The punishment should be in the same field as the crime.

No licence is pretty much saying he'll never get a job - surely that will cost more than a bucket of paint.

Yeah gotcha Nik.

It's pretty heavy handed. But sometimes a heavy handed response is needed (maybe not straight up)

I would have agreed with you a few years ago, Tom. But, my crusade against cyclists and my strong belief they should abide by the same laws and obligations of any motorist - considering they insist on getting special treatment whilst using our roads to commute - would make me a hypocrite if I didn't agree with that law.

I had a friend, well, acquaintance whom lost his licence after riding home drunk. We had no idea that we could get in trouble. I was only 15 though, so didn't really give a Posted Image.

Any example of this ever being true?

Yeah.

I'm not condoning drunk riding. (that is too close to driving, so you should get your licence taken away)

But it was just an example.

Negative, pretty broad statement.

Still believe some form of punishment should be there. Otherwise what's the deterrent? A slap on the wrist?

Burning witches... had we not have burnt them all hundreds of years ago there might still be witches patrolling the night sky turning us into frogs as we speak!!!

If you're happy with your position, Morgan, it's cucumbers to me. I just thought the point was worth making.

I getcha ;)

Of course a mortgage is what we're slowly working towards and the asset value a haus holds will be a positive thing.

But I won't lie, being 21 and completely debt free is top shelf :P

Goodbye kayak! The three or four times I took you out, it was great fun!

It's good fun being fit.

I was getting a bit like a fatcunt and drinking too much beer.

Now I'm fit, feel better and still drinking too much beer.

People have been going to jail for graffiti for a very long time now. Punitive fines are enormous, state remittance can run deep into the tens of thousands, usually paid by an extended amount of time in jail. In WA a day in jail is equal to paying $100 off your fine. Most people just sit out the extra how ever long it would be, and come out owing nothing, but still - jail is a fairly significant punishment. You can Posted Image up in a lot of different things in life before ever being close to the threat of jail.
