Abdhul, Mohammed, Ahmad, Raed, Salman, Shahabuddin, etc (I litterally just searched for all cars in Western Sydney and those names popped up).

If a car ad contains any of these words I close the tab before even looking at it. In the past I've given them the benefit of the doubt if the car looked worthwhile. EVERY single time, I was met with an ethnic bloke and his cousin to convince me that it had never been in an accident, never been written off, genuine kms, service history (with missing log books?) etc.

I've lost faith.

I now just skip right over them.

I've even had people call dad and I when we're selling cars and exclaim how pleased they are to actually speak to an Aussie.

Morgan, that is spot on for me. I don't like racists and what not, but it just so happens to be 100% correct with my own personal experiences. I could've had a Liberty ages ago when I was looking for one but didn't purely for most of the reasons you have given. My cousin is a cop and even he says there is a task force targeting those who are fixing up repairable write offs and selling them as perfect cars. Using stolen parts, changing VIN numbers, etc. It's a big business apparently.

Either way, a friend of mine (who is Lebanese) told me this; all Arabs aren't terrorists. But all terrorists are Arab. I laughed at least.

You don't understand the feeling I got when I got the Liberty I have now. Best feeling that it was an aussie and English couple.

Rebirthing cars is huge! There was an article in the Good Weekend a few months ago about a bunch of people buying base model Hilux's (damaged or not - didn't matter) and changing the VIN, adding all the extras and selling them as SR5's. They were making like $20k per unit.

The most surprising one for us was when we went looking at a mid-90s Celica for my sister. They sounded Ethnic on the phone but lived in French's Forest so went down anyway. There was bog everywhere, tyres looked like Tonka truck wheels melted and reformed into large circles, that greasy disgusting interior cleaner (notheaps relevant but I hate that stuff!) and it just reeked of an RW.

Plus, under a tarp in the same front yard was a completely totalled X5. HAHAHAHA so dodgy.

I don't know if you remember reading my post about the first Liberty I had, but it was a repairable write off. It was a MY07 SpecB, looked amazing and drove amazingly well. But after doing the check up on the RMS site it revealed its true colours. I ended up canceling the cheque and taking the car back the next day.

I wasn't able to. I was confronted by about three of them when I arrived with the car. The only reason why they said to bring it back was because we had the power to cancel the cheque. If we paid cash, there is no way in hell they'd accept it back. Assholes.

The bloke I bought my lemon off was named Ahmed and his cousin was there to sell it with me. Completely 'ed me around. Just lucky for me I was happy to invest a lot of time and not so much money to turn it into a Jem. If I ever saw an add from anyone of these names I wouldn't even bother. No racism, just rolling with facts and past history.
