I'm about to convert my rs to bosch coils (Hec716), I got 3 of them of eBay that are the newer style with terminals on the front of the coil and one has them on the rear but they are both Hec716. My question is are there any differences between them, can i use them together?
Any info would be great.

Odd that they both have the same part number. Very unGerman.
Check the primary and secondary resisance on both to see if they are the same value.
If it were me, I would run all the same.

Three sound like they're the older style, and one sounds like it's the newer style.
Production also moved to another country after the change of style of coilpacks.
Convert to MY01 WRX/STi/B4 coil on plug coilpacks. Much better than Bosch.

Not sure how much of a help I can be, but I converted my coil-on-plug system over to HEC716's and leads a couple of years ago. The HEC716's are great, I've had no problems.
I have the newer type: The mounting brackers were pretty much uleless, so I made my own.

Not too sure if they are the same, but I can't imagine there's be much different in the spark between them. Why not just sell the older style one and pick up another of the newer ones?
