My Gen2 RX (EJ25D) is miss firing, mostly noticeable <3000rpm.

I suspect its the spark plugs or leads because i can smell un-burnt fuel heating up in the exhaust...

Anyway my question is what type of plugs should i get, and what part number/model etc? (cant trust the stores in this town)

Also any leads that are worth buying?

On a budget.

Buy standard leads. And buy normal spark plugs ;)

You will be looking at $200+ for what Alex has suggested. (I know because I've got them)

You can also test the leads and coil with a multimeter.

and that was only quick ebay searching. part numbers are your friend, use these and google / ebay / other online stores and end up with easy bargains.

i always go to manufacturers catalogues first rather than trying keyword/year models etc.

Personally I used regular spark plugs on the EJ25D. Sure, you have to change them more often, but I really don't feel like that motor deserves platinum.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Hope this is the issue and it is sorted quickly for you Renny Dawg.

Ignition breakdown under load is usually faulty leads or coils.

Yeah on the DOHC models... I just remove the washer bottle on one side and the air filter box on the other, gives way more room to move (I am talking on the TT's)
