Hey guys

just wondering if anyone has modified there foglights so that instead of the reflector on the outside of the foglight just being a dummy, so that it actually holds another foglight.

Was contemplating putting in a set of purple HID's into the 2nd set.

So has anyone tried anything like this before? if so how did you do it?

Thanks, Meadyyy.

The JDM ones have a globe in there but it's a corner lamp. Ie, It lights up when you indicate.

It has been done before. Not with purple HIDs though and I'd advise you not to. It will only get you into trouble!

ah okay cool..

It will get me in trouble, but so will the wheels, ride height, tint and everything else. Not going to drive around with them all the time. kinda like a novelty thing. Might have a go at it and see what happens.

HIDs use a ballast. I'd recommend wiring up some LEDs instead to see if you like it?

You could retrofit another projector in there and wire that up. Awful lot of effort for an utterly pointless mod though.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

You can buy purple HIDs?

Why?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I wired up mine as extra indicators. They're originally designed as turn lights, so the lens is angled more towards the kerb. Put HID's in them and you'll be attracting a lot of attention with a messy projection of light.

You can get JDM foggies fairly cheap these days. Saves having to modify your AUDM ones :)

You can buy pink HID's if that's your thing :P

8,000k has a bit of a purple tinge to it, and 12,000k is mostly purple. 12,000k will get you defected pretty fast though.

Having fog lights on full stop is going to get you into trouble.

mine are wired up as turning lights.. its a Posted Image'ing pain..
also thing to keep in mind, that area gets alot of water, if you dont seal it perfect your going to have issues and the high current from the HID ballasts could make it very dangerous.. whatever you do, if using HID's be carefull!
ignoring the legality of it.. safety should be your main concern with mods.

so im guessing just taking the wire from the original indicator, and wireing it to the new lower indicator should not be done???
