1987 AE82 5dr Hatch with a 4AGE.
Car IMO is a bit rough in places, got it cheap with about 4 zillion Km's on it, panels are straight though which is what I was mainly concerned with. There are a few spots where rust has bubbled the paint a little and will deal with those down the track as they are yet to break the paint.
3 main issues I had when I got the car (I knew of them) where that the dash lights didn't work, the fuel gauge worked about 4% of the time and the thermo fans have been wired to an in car switch.
This afternoon I took the cluster apart and cleaned it up, followed the wiring back and found the dimmer was not plugged in....... Plug in and dash lights work.
Suspected that Sender unit has issue, took it out and took the cover off the variable resister where the wiper that is controlled by the float is located, bit of shiz build up across the resistor wires so I gave that a good clean up and slightly bent the wiper to make a better contact as it had started to wear a bit where contact usually was made.... Now have a working fuel gauge...
New thermo switch = $30 Ex... laughing
Will give the car a service over the weekend and get under it to just see how stuff looks in general... going to pull the plugs out and check those etc.
Carpets leave a lot to be desired on the cleanliness side, going to pull those out on the W/E and see what I can do.. if not save them will buy a new moulded carpet set (can get one for about $120)

Scrubbed the floors inside the car then smashed a central locking kit on the car because I am always forget to lock doors LOL.
Wiring was excessively dodge factor around the CD Player (pics to come) so rewired that and put in some 4 inch Clarions that I got on clearance at Repco for like $30 haha (the spot where the original 4 inch speakers once lived was empty)
This afternoon I flushed the cooling system through.

Re-did the vents with foam, the old foam had deteriorated to nothing so half the air destined for the vents was just spilling out all over the shop.
Haha this one was taken at about 2am (silly but we didn;t start stripping the car out until about 7pm) and that coke was one of many..... that was half filled with scotch haha. Ended up having to re-do a few bits of the wiring to the central locking solenoids in the morning that I attempted to do at about 3am
This is the only shot that turned out of the dodgy wiring.. The thing hanging in the middle was like a pin or something with a wire soldered to it...
