having a major problem,

car wont start, i thought it was a flat battery so i disconected the battery and recharged it, connected it back up and still wont start, thought it was a dropped cell, but still got 12v when trying to start.

now everytime i open the door and jump in the alarm goes off, my pic code doesnt work anymore, i tried the master code that came with the car, and that worked, but still couldnt start the car.

and now everytime i open the door the alarm goes off and nothing will stop it.

my loacal dealer is 100ks aways.

anyone know what could be wrong?

You need 2 people to do this.

Disconnect battery.

Hold down <EDIT>

This starts a car without the code, this should not be public. Take it to PM's.

Have you tried ringing Subaru?

Also make sure the battery isn't flat in your remote, i've had problems with it not disarming properly before.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Unplug battery for 12 hours.

Try master code again.

They are a pain in the ass and sometimes just require a full reset.

right, left the battery off all night. connected it up this morning then the alarm decided to go off, Locking or unlocking the car wouldnt stop the alarm, when it did i jumped in the car, key in, enter master code, engine like came on, turn key and nothing, the dash lights just flicker, and "click click click".

i have conncected a volt meter up to the battery and go to start the car and the volts stay at 12.7v.

a thought i had was the started motor died??

sorry for the double,/tripple posts,

but fcuk Repco are useless, got the battery tested, it tested fine, they didnt have my battery in stock anyway, went to a another place, and borrowed a battery (correct one) and put it in, and works fine.

i swear Repco are the most usless "vaginas" and should NOT be called a auto store, i dont know how many times they have stuffed up a order or dont know what they are talking about.

i feel like a complete twat with it just being the battery but. anyway, car goes

Glad you got it sorted, mate! Pity you had to go through so much trouble though...

I'd advise not going back there ;)

Did your 'click click click' sound like this:

Thats mine with a flat battery also.. I cable started it and drove it for a bit and it hasn't stuffed up again...yet. What did they say was the specific problem with the battery?

Batteries can do that, under no load conditions it tests fine, but as soon as you put load on it, it dies in the arse. The only way you will find this on a test bench (out of the car) is to actually hook it up to a proper battery load tester and ramp it up to the rating on the battery. I've heard of this before, very rare though. Low electrolyte level will do it too, although it normally needs to be a few mm below the plates before it starts doing that...

Cheers,
Ben

Edit - wow, way to start an old thread again... Sorry!
