You're probably completely correct, but I haven't had a very good experience with them.
Yep i've not had fantastic experience with HP either.
Dell is a cheap 'good' laptop.
Toshiba is a good laptop but more expensive.
15.6" screen on a laptop is fairly big and big means heavy and big also means your battery life will suffer a little (unless they put more cells in the battery in which case it will be even heavier again).

I use it as a desktop essentially, it's always plugged in unless we're travelling - and even then, its from the airport to the hotel - prugg it in! I can handle heavy.

Yes. Do it. It has i7, 4gb ram, 500gb hard drive, 6-cell battery - they are all good specs.
I'd suggest paying the extra $58 and get a 2yr warranty though...you just never know.
