If you have an Australian trading account you can have it enabled for international trade if you want.. there is a slight price premium for doing it and the trades are slightly more expensive.
BTW the min trade is dictated by the trading platform, not the company. With commsec min trades are $500.

When a company says "min investment $XXX" that is when they are doing a capital raising direct to existing shareholders or an IPO (these are normally done outside of the trading platform and don't incur brokerage fees).

FIL is 54 with zero super.

He's worked as a carpenter for his whole life and was doing really well up until about 10 years ago when he got into a dispute with a business partner and a client who basically sued the crap out of him. Lost alot right then and there including a second property. Pretty much been struggle street ever since

Wedding barely cost anything.

Both sides split the bill 50/50 and put in $8k each.

We came within about $50 of the budget.

Obviously there were things that Katie and I bought ourselves including the dress, suits, rings, honeymoon and a bunch of crafty stuff.
