Tech heads I need your help.

Girl has an iMac and I want to copy all the music from iTunes from the Mac to my PC; I have istalled iTunes on my PC.

I copied the files to the portable HDD we use for the Mac, but when I went to upload them to the PC it won't bring up the drive.
It installed the driver when I first plugged it in but it wont show up in 'my computer' but when I click on 'safely remove hardware' it is there???? Is this because the portable has been formatted for the Mac?

How else can I get the files into iTunes on my PC?

Yep, see if you can format the drive as ntfs or fat

just make sure you used copy, not move before you do that


Also, I think the MAC can be set to be "discovered" by itunes so you can sync etc.. I guess it just uses dlna, but with a shiney MAC wrapper

Prepare to lose the data on the portable drive, if that is acceptable - continue reading.

Plug hard drive into windows. Right click 'my computer' and 'manage'.

Click 'disk management'

Find portable hard drive listed in the disks on the computer. Will probably say unreadable volume or just have the listed size of the drive with no drive letter assigned to it.

Right click it and format the drive as 'ntfs quick format'.

It will not be readable on both winblows and mac. (Please don't format the c: and blame me).

Depending on gayness of how the mac stores the music files, you may achieve nothing from this
