And this, possibly the most beautiful car ever built, is a 1930(I think?) Daimler Corsica Roadster.

Quite honestly I think it's nicer than the 540K Merc that went for $12MM yesterday!

@Shaz: You really know how to stir me up, don't you? The Stratos is so special. The closest I've ever gotten to driving one was standing next to an example at the Fremantle Motor Museum (RIP) when the curator actually started it up. We went on an OzLib/GtRydaz cruise there in the early days, first OzLib WA cruise in fact! I went back every Sunday for a month looking at the Subaru 360, and found myself pouring over the Stratos, every time. I guess they figured I was either retarded or a real enthusiast, both go hand in hand anyway, so the old bugger wobbled over and asked me if I wanted to hear it running.

GIRL SCREAM.

Was so awesome. Shame they sold off most of the collection to Dubai.

:(

I reckon the Ferrari 250GT California has to be one of the best looking cars ever made hey.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Subaru 360... rare car that would cost like a billion $ to own one of?

The one Nik posted, not the Ferrari, old Ferraris don't do much for me.. not that I think it looks bad or anything and would happily own one if given..

Absolutely, it amazes me how many people hate the new California - all you have to do is look at the 250 and you can see why it looks the way it does. Really, 'top tens' or whatever should be done decade by decade, with the decade starting in the second year. It's impossible to compare something like that 30's Daimler, to a late fifties (?? early sixties) Ferrari 250GT!

I guess they'd be defined as geographically rare, and because of the Japanese culture back then, not many survived either. I believe they exported about fifteen thousand of them, all of which went to the states. I think the best bet would probably to find one for sale state side.

Fixing it, I don't know, Jase would probably know better. Being so old I assume it would be a super simple engine design, I mean it was an engine for a motorbike/scooter - so there can't be much to it? I don't know if specific parts would be an issue?

This bad boy;

Would be by far the most desirable, most rare example. The YoungSS had the bigger motor, 4 gears and heaps of chrome. my360.com is a good source, that image still works so they're probably still online.

AMS must have done it, I'll get him to show me how to do it when he's here next month. I looked and looked but then I started not knowing what I was looking at, so I bailed out. One broken link is better than a broken forum!

I can't read Japanese...

As far as the best looking Art-Deco era cars go, this HAS to be a contender.

I even prefer it to the famous Atlantic Coupe' which still holds the title of most expensive car ever sold.
This is Ralph Lauren's Atlantic

Jason will e-Kiss you if he hasn't seen that before. And, being TG.OZ - he probably hasn't. What a shit show.

I know most people hate it but Top Gear oz really isn't that bad.

Haha, the GT is hard to go past, for me though... I'm a bit weird... so the S500 is my favourite.
