Damn. The plastidip looks almost identical to the 401 console. How'd the matte clear go? or not yet completed? Very interested in this, if it looks as good as plain plastidip, I reckon I will do it to mine. Love a flat black dash. Especially with the backlit B4 cluster. Just looks awesome.

Cheers,
Ben

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

it does aye! havnt clear coated it yet. been very lazy/busy. i have to redo the plastidip now as its been ruined from wear. things like pushing buttons and throwing my phone in the console thing have torn it up. so when i redo it (probably some time this week) ill clear matte coat it. hopefully that will make it durable.
and yeah hope to be getting the B4 dash cluster when i buy a half cut at the end of the year

My initial thoughts would be get an STi cut, dont bother with the twin turbo ones. Easier to fit yes, but is hard to make good power without modding a large amount of things. Plus the twins have big end problems. Do your research, but myself (and a lot of other people on here) would recommend a single turbo motor a hell of a lot more

I've done a fair bit of research. I just want - quick, easy, not expensive, no hassle with engineers cert or passing emissions.
right now my 2.5 is getting tired and will need a rebuilt at some stage. i figure the B4 motor is easiest.
im not after big power output yet. i can get 180kw out of it and id be happy. if i were to chase big HP id no be doing that on this car.
plus i think as its my first engine swap its probably the way to go.
hey if i can get an STI motor at a good price id definitely consider it.
ill see how i go anyway, i may change my mind

Budget for a tune then man. Save you having a quick death of a big end.

Todays Project:
100W Narva Driving lights for country driving. i have no idea how much it will affect the air flow to the radiator. but it isn't wired in yet so i will test it out for a while and see if it impacts it. i don't think it will but that is the nature of doing something no one else has done i guess.

^ +1.

Ha ha!

Nice work. Gives it a nice touch and I like the fact that it's hidden.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

Bhaha yeah! that would be awesome! haha
yeah the fact that its hidden is the reason i went through with it. i wouldn't want lights hanging off the front cause that would mean id have to put one of those horrible nudge bar things.
can't wait to get them working. it should be epic. hopefully they don't melt my grill too bad haha

Any feedback on cooling issues with the lights?

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Adam excellent find. I just bought one on the spot - it'll be perfect for the hunting lights in the Lada.
