The interior of the 2013 Subaru Forester has finally been revealed in full as the all-new mid-sized SUV has made its showroom debut in its domestic market.
Launching in Australia in the first quarter of 2013, the fourth-generation Japanese-built Subaru Forester sports a cabin heavily inspired by the new Impreza small car on which it’s based.
The 2013 Subaru Forester’s interior is more spacious than the previous model, offers better visibility thanks to repositioned pillars and seats, and incorporates a number of new technology features.
High-grade Forester variants will benefit from Subaru’s EyeSight driver assist system – which includes automatic pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning, among other functions – as well as an electric tailgate.
All models will feature a multi-function display system that provides the driver with real-time information about the status of car’s X-Mode all-wheel drive system, stability control, auto engine stop-start system, fuel consumption and EyeSight features.
The Subaru Forester will continue to be offered in Australia with three engine options: a naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol for the entry-level models, a fuel efficient diesel, and a high-performance 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit for the sporty Forester XT.
A six-speed manual gearbox replaces the old five-speed as the standard transmission while a continuously variable transmission (CVT) takes over from the third-generation Forester’s dated four-speed automatic.
Australian specifications will be revealed closer to the local launch of the 2013 Subaru Forester early next year.
