Ah right. Oh well. These ones are better then mine so it's always a plus. I can always look for the alloy gear later on when I can afford to.

Another update! I purchased some plastic push screws to add the JDM battery and ABS covers and I must say my engine bay is looking very presentable. Also got a pic of my STi strut brace in daylight. Loving how things are coming along so far.

In a few hours I'm heading off to remove my remaining two roof rack mounts, I'm picking up a pair of STi rear trailing arms and will be installing a few LEDs for my car. Not sure what I'll be replacing but I'll see what the bloke has and go from there. Stay tuned for some more pics.

It's a tad dirty, but I do agree! Thanks man. :)

Will be giving it a clean this weekend and I'll retake the picture.

Absolutely cheering! Thanks to Chris (dawesy), my roof rack mounts have now been removed. Finally a sleek looking car. Time to move on to the next stage of additions.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm doing my best and trying to fork out the cash in the necessary places before going silly with it all.

Once the STi rear trailing arms are in, I will definitely take a pic. Don't you worry about that. I'll have a before and after shot.

I am very jealous of how neat your engine bay is. So clean!

You really need to fix that fog light though  ;)

Thanks a lot Josh. Much appreciated. ;)

I do indeed. It's starting to piss me off. I have been trying to scout one to avoid having to use the oven, but I think that may just be what happens. I've had my weekends taken up with helping my parents to do some things around the house so I haven't had time. Next week I doubt I'll get anything done either as I've taken on a new job (temporary for the week to see if I like it) and it requires me to drive down to the gong every morning and back home. We'll see how we go.

This new job equals a lot more money too so if I do like it and end up staying there, this car will be getting treated like an absolute queen. Not to mention the to-do list will shorten a lot sooner.

Too much wagon!

:D

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

I have a soft spot for wagons.

I knew you did. Couldn't keep your eyes off mine.

So my car has just hit the 140,000 km mark as judged in the pic. My only question is, why does the trip say 6,816.4 km instead of being 0? Or is it because it has been used before and needed to just have a simple reset?

You need fuel.. and you took a photo at $1.20. Naughty Garry!

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Fuel is all good now. Ha ha. It was taken on my way back from Wollongong yesterday afternoon. Cruise control was on! I am thankful for the travel as I went down to 12L/100 instead of 12.4L or 12.6L.

True that. Thanks Mark.

Silly me thought that it should all clock in at the right time that the mileage ticked to 140,000 km. All good. I think it time to give my engine bay a good ol' clean.

A few days delay, but here are a few photos of the STi rear trailing arms I managed to grab. They're not the best quality pics but I did what I could at the time with WD40 and dirt on my hands.

17d3FT4.jpg

uqoIERQ.jpg

qLSpTGf.jpg

In all honesty, I have definitely noticed a difference. The arms themselves seem to be made out of the same material as the OEM ones and are identical in shape. However I did notice that the bushes on the STi ones look that much better which is where all the difference is coming from. They just look much more heavy duty... The rear deals with bumps, humps, holes, rocks, asphalt, etc, from the roads significantly better than before. You don't hear and/or feel as much of a 'thump' as you used to when driving over a speed hump for example.

I think this was definitely money well spent.

Things I have bought so far in order to get my car that much closer to being mechanically full-proof:

  • LH front wheel bearing from a MY07 3.0R SpecB wagon (88,000 km old) - $72 including postage
  • Whiteline lower control arm bushes - $125.90 including postage
  • Full Bilstein suspension in near new condition (only 600 km old) - $547 including postage

I'm just waiting on the suspension to come in (Monday or Tuesday next week) and I'll be making my way to ICHIban to get it all installed. I will then take advantage of the $110 price that Pedders charge for a full front and rear wheel alignment, which includes adjustments to camber, toe and caster where applicable. After that the wagon should be pretty sweet for some time. It'll just need new shoes which is what I'll save up for next.

Absolutely cheering on how things are coming along and I appreciate all the help I've received with regards to getting parts and help. Thanks so far for that guys.
